Chennai Floods 2008
The drainage system in Chennai is horrible! I’m not sure about other parts of India though. It can rain for like 15 minutes and soon all the roads and sidewalks will be flooded with muddy water! And on our way back we saw most of the slums being 1/5 flooded with water! Imagine your house being flooded that way every time it rains and speaking about diseases and hygiene, it’s understandable why they are so bad.
I think the people are already immune and used to it because when it starts pouring, we will run and look for shelters while they’ll just give us that amused look and continue as though nothing had happened.
And we’re always at the center of attraction. HAHA 
Wherever we are, even on the bus, everyone will keep looking at us. It’s no doubt the people in India are very amicable because they never fail to smile and wave at us. You can just feel that special connection, even if it’s just a short wave from the bus. A beautiful, unspoken connection.
